Radio Station

There are 7 centers of All India Radio in Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kochi FM and Devikulam . Besides there is also a production cum transmission centre in Laksha Dweep which broadcasts mainly in Malayalam .The AIR programmes reach the entire area of the State.


Doordarsan is the prime channel in the State which has got terrestrial trasmition network in the entire State. There are Doordarshan Kendra High Power Transmitters(HPT): in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode and Low Power Transmitters: in Adoor, Attappadi, Changanasery, Chengannor, Idukkil, Kalpetta, Kannur, Kangharh, Kasaragod, Kayamkulam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Punalur, Shornur, Thalassery, Thodupuzha and Thrissur and Very Low Power Transmitters (VLPT)in Devikulam and Kanjirappally.
Besides these;-there are 12 satellite channels viz.- DD-Malayalam. DD Kerala, Asianet, Asianet News, AsianetPlus, Soorya, Kiran, Kairali, Amrita, Shalom, Jeevan,, People Which tel
ecast programmes in Malayalam.
