The Scrutiny wing is entrusted to scrutinize the feedback from the public on the performance of the government.

This section is engaged in immediate dissemination of news related to the daily activities of the State Government. It handles news and photo coverage of official programmes of Chief Minister and other ministers; co-ordination of official programmes through SMS alert; co-ordination of press conferences of Chief Minister and other ministers; media coverage for press meet of Chief Minister and other ministers; issuance of routine press releases, special press releases, news follow-ups, directions, notifications to all media through facilities like e-mail, print, fax even on holidays.

Nodal officer for Nava Keralam, Priya Keralam television programmes; manages production works of video documentaries, short films; oversees proper utilisation of purchased time slots; visual communication works; liaison works with outhouse producers; validates the appropriate utilisation of allotted funds from respective Head of account.

    Co-ordination of responsibilities entrusted to Programme producer, audio-video documentation information officers; planning and production of in-house out- house documentaries; maintenance of audio-video archives etc.

Responsibilities include rate fixation and bill payment for printing press and circulation of department publications state-wide; liaison works with the publication division and offices of Chief Minister and other ministers; production works for special issue of publications etc. In addition to this, he/she also oversees fair utilisation of allotted funds from appropriate head of accounts.

Field Publicity and co-ordination works for India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi; in charge of Kerala team for Republic Day parade, media coordination for special programmes on occasions like Anniversary celebration of State Cabinet etc. Also validates the appropriate utilisation of allotted funds from respective Head of account. He/she also entrusted with responsibilities of State Public Information Officer for Right to Information Act.

Fixation of advertisement rates for newspapers and channels; bill payment for advertisements; liaison works with office of Chief Minister and other ministers; preparing media list for advertisement etc. He/she also ensures proper allocation, expenditure and utilization of each plan fund from appropriate head of accounts in accordance with Planning Board norms.
