Data compilation for State Budget and Governor's Address to the Legislative Assembly are prepared under the direction of Additional Director (General & Administration). In addition to these, data compilation works for Five-Year plan programmes, submission of Annual plan proposals to Planning Board, preparation of draft project report for implementing new schemes and programmes in the department are planned and implemented through the division.

1. Cultural Development:
Organises various cultural event, fairs and festivals, film festivals; co-ordinates inter-state cultural exchange programmes; distribution of 35 mm films, audio-video CDs and DVDs; maintenance of film library/archives; organises various cultural programmes in consensus with various cultural organisations in other States as part of promotional activities of the State’s cultural diversity; maintenance and monitoring of Tagore Theatre; purchase of films and documentaries.

2. Field Publicity and Exhibition:

The section is engaged in immediate dissemination of news related to the daily activities of the State Government. It handles news and photo coverage of official programmes of Chief Minister and other ministers; co-ordination of official programmes through SMS alert; co-ordination of press conferences of Chief Minister and other ministers; media coverage for press meet of Chief Minister and other ministers; issuance of routine press releases, special press releases, news follow-ups, directions, notifications to all media through facilities like e-mail, print, fax even on holidays.

The Scrutiny wing is entrusted to scrutinize the feedback from the public on the performance of the government.
